Session : 12.30 pm -1.30 pm
MNKC Track Day is a long awaited event for MNKC members and finally, MNCK got through the booking and it is all set on the 27 July 2008, 12.30 – 1.30 pm session. Members gather as early as 9.30 am at the 1st Meet-up point i.e K1A Metro Ampang and later met another half of the group at a side stop after KLIA Toll. A convoy of 30 cars cruised along the KLIA highway and able to reached SIC around 11.30 am. To those members who will participate in the track event were directed straight away towards Pit 29/30 and the rest were to park just outside the pit area.
A short briefing by MNKC President, Izhar and CCM representative, Bradernose were held in the lounge area touching roughly on matters of the track do’s and don’ts. Shortly after that, we were called in again for another short briefing by the Track Team Management which led by En. Fazli explaining on the important track’s rules & regulations that need to be adhere at all times, interpretation on all the track’s signs and also the do’s and don’ts in an emergency situation.
Once done, members started to get ready for the flag off session at the Start line… What can be said is, members are totally excited about it and they fully utilised their 1 hour session in practicing their skills especially at the sharp corners which are hard to tackle with… Every lap, they gain a difference experience and on every lap, they gain the experience in handling their car in a better way…. Since no racing is allowed, members get to practice on their own time and pace…. Some of the members made few stops at the pit stop area and exchange car to make a comparison and some members bring with them the more experienced drivers to guide them through certain corners… One thing for sure, the corners are not an easy task to handle as per seen on TV… It took a lot of practice and skill to tackle it and handling the car with full concentration at all times… Members personally get to feel the experience driving on F1 track and on top of that, it is an opportunity for members to test their car especially to those who have modified their car with performance gadget…. That what makes the experience much more valuable and unforgettable…. As for other, its time for personal Kodak moments and also tried to capture as much as they can on every actions of members on track…
We wrap up the day with thousand smiles and parted our own ways after a short ice cream break at the Petronas, KLIA…
